Joining us as Student Services Team Leader, you must ensure that students in a designated part of the College receive an efficient and effective support service.

Coordinating the activities of the Student Services team for which you are responsible for, you will ensure that all student enquiries and needs are dealt with effectively and efficiently and manage Student Finance for the designated area. Whilst holding and leading team meetings and conducting regular 1 to 1’s, you will manage and ensure the quality of DBS applications and UCAS applications and undertake the interviewing process for students. Taking the lead in activities such as Healthy College events, diversity days etc, you will also oversee all welfare provision including looked after children and young carers and represent the College at appropriate sub groups.

We’re looking for a pro-active and self-motivated individual who can work well under pressure and deal with sensitive issues in a confident manner. Educated to GCSE level (or equivalent) with grade C and above in English and Maths, you will have a wealth of experience in a busy office environment and have personal resilience to cope with a range of difficult situations.

With strong communication skills and the ability to coordinate and motivate a team, you will hold an NVQ Level 4 in Advice and Guidance (or be willing to work towards this) and have experience of providing advice and guidance within an organisation.

Those who hold a Counselling qualification or an equivalent advice / support certificate are highly desirable as are those who have the ability to speak fluent Welsh.

A DBS Disclosure will be requested from the successful applicant being offered the position.
