Coleg Cambria is one of the UK’s largest colleges employing more than 1450 staff in over five campuses, all conveniently located in North East Wales, offering easy accessibility from within North Wales, Shropshire, Wirral, Merseyside and Cheshire.

We are looking for an enthusiastic, resilient and highly motivated individual with a successful track record of teaching ESOL in a further education college. Joining our Deeside and Yale campus on a casual hourly basis, the Lecturer in ESOL will perform scheduled teaching, prepare learning materials, mark students’ work, liaise with awarding bodies and exam invigilation as required.

You will teach groups of ESOL learners with a range of skills levels from complete beginners to higher levels. You will be organised and experienced in course administration and, acting as a personal tutor, you will provide educational guidance, support and counselling for all students and complete and produce the agreed deadlines documentation such as; registers, schemes of work, records of work, course review, course analysis documentation, student reports, absence reports and course files. You will also liaise with tutors from other business areas with regard to resources, curriculum development and student reports whilst participating in the marketing, planning, assessment and evaluation of course provision.

In order to be successful in this role, candidates must be qualified to at least Level 5 in a relevant specialist subject area and hold a teaching qualification such as Cert Ed, PGCE or C&G 7407. Creative, innovative and imaginative, you will have excellent communication and interpersonal skills and display energy and enthusiasm in the learning environment.

Open and responsive to the needs of others, you will be a strong team player who can easily establish effective working relationships. Able to prepare effective written and visual teaching materials, you will develop and use a range of teaching and learning techniques, be able to assess the outcomes of learning and learner achievements and make students aware of their strengths and development needs.

The ability to speak Welsh is desirable for this post.
