Here at Coleg Cambria, we are now looking for an Aeronautical Technician & Instructor Demonstrator to join us at our Deeside campus. This is a hybrid role where 50% of your time will be spent carrying out the role of Technician and the other 50% of your time will be spent carrying out the role of Instructor Demonstrator.

In the role of Technician, you will provide technical support for students, Technical Training Officers & Lecturers by ensuring that learning materials, tools and equipment are maintained and prepared for workshop and classroom activities. Assisting training and lecturing staff with class demonstrations and with students working in practical situations, you will be pro-active in keeping the workshop area tidy and ensure a healthy and safe environment. You will also be required to develop and implement lean tooling standardisation processes in-line with industry requirements.

As Instructor Demonstrator, you will deliver formal scheduled practical instruction and demonstration direct to groups of Aeronautical students. You will prepare a schedule of practical activities, from information received from Course Co-ordinators and appropriate Lecturers, and assist in monitoring the overall progress of each student; assessing competence and progress in practical activities, attendance, punctuality, discipline and initiating action as required.

This role demands an individual who holds a Level 3 or equivalent qualification in an appropriate technical subject area and who has recent industrial experience. With excellent communication and interpersonal skills, you will have the ability to assess learners within a practical situation and be open and responsive to the needs of others.

With a high level of attention to detail and a meticulous approach to your work, you will display energy and enthusiasm in the learning environment and demonstrate an understanding of current developments within your own specialist area. Experience of maintaining stock, carrying out stock audits and liaising with various suppliers within a similar environment is essential, as is been fully conversant with workshop Health & Safety.

The ability to speak fluent Welsh is highly desirable.
