Fixed Term Contract until 31st August 2019, Casual Hourly Paid (Full time for approximately 3 months)

Coleg Cambria is one of the UK’s largest colleges employing more than 1450 staff in over five campuses, all conveniently located in North East Wales, offering easy accessibility from within North Wales, Shropshire, Wirral, Merseyside and Cheshire.

We are looking for a motivated, organised and versatile individual to join us as Lecturer in Horticulture at our Northop campus. You will need a range of horticultural knowledge and practical skills to teach from pre-entry to level 2 and beyond.

Displaying energy and enthusiasm in the learning environment, you will perform scheduled teaching, prepare learning materials, mark students’ work, liaise with awarding bodies and exam invigilation as required. Providing educational guidance, support and counselling for all students, you will liaise with tutors from other business areas with regard to resources, curriculum development, student reports and other related matters, and complete and produce documentation such as registers, schemes of work, records of work, course review, course analysis documentation and student reports.

We’re looking for an individual who is qualified to Degree level (or equivalent Level 6 qualification) in a relevant specialist subject area who ideally possesses a teaching qualification such as Cert Ed, PGCE or City & Guilds 7407 (although this is not essential) . Able to prepare effective written and visual teaching materials, you will be able to identify, interpret and apply specific knowledge to practice and be a dedicated team player who can establish effective working relationships.

With an awareness of the importance of quality standards within teaching, you will have knowledge of a broad range of learning needs and how to support these needs within a learning environment and demonstrate and understanding of current developments within your own specialist area. You should be open and responsive to the needs of others and be able to adapt quickly to changing circumstances and new ideas.

The ability to speak fluent Welsh is desirable.

A DBS Disclosure will be requested from the successful applicant being offered the position and you will also be required to register with the Education Workforce Council.

This is a casual, hourly paid role until 31st August 2019.
